Anna Hooke
Anna is a graduate of French and Philosophy, and after graduation her love of travel and foreign languages took her to work in France and Italy, as a teacher, tour guide and finally in private banking. Anna has volunteered at home and abroad for various animal charities, including rehabilitating gibbons in the rainforests of Thailand last Summer, and working on an Australian ranch, mustering cattle on horseback and encountering some of the scarier animals! Having grown up on a farm Anna is now happily settled back into the Devonshire countryside with her Poodle Freya, and keen to provide Exeter and the surrounding area with top quality pet care.
Paul Hooke
Paul is an animal enthusiast and exotic animal expert, who took his first job in the local micro zoo and was soon giving talks and demonstrations to the public. He loves caring for domestic pets and farm animals, as well as exotic animals, and owns a salmon pink tarantula and whip tailed scorpion. Paul has also worked as a tree surgeon and electrician, but is happiest working with animals.
Duncan Goodlad
Duncan is a landrover mechanic and enthusiast and can usually be found under either a bonnet or walking his two Springer Spaniels. He has recently adopted two kittens as well, and in the past has owned a variety of hamsters. His love for animals springs from growing up on a farm and bottle feeding lambs before he could even walk! Duncan will be providing support for Paul and Anna over the busy Summer months.
Jayne Waddilove
Jayne has been working for the RSPCA for 8 years and has hands on, practical experience with every animal imaginable! Spreading her career through dogs, horses, cats, wildlife, farm animals and reptiles, she has undertaken many animal courses, but her main focus is with dogs. She has a dog behaviour/training qualification which was studied at Battersea Dogs Home. She grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and this is her passion in life. She has a Labrador and Retriever of her own.
Cathy Kowan
Cathy is a former teacher and long-term foster parent, who has taken much delight in sharing her love for animals with all the children in her care. In school, looking after and learning about a variety of small mammals was an important aspect of classroom life, while at home each child was helped to assume responsibility for their own choice of pet in addition to sharing care of the dogs and cats already in residence. Cathy has also worked for the RSPB and as a Volunteer for the Devon Wildlife Trust. In both cases her role has included advising members of the public on matters of animal welfare. Cathy has lived with, and at one time bred, pointers for over 30 years. Cathy will be joining us as a host family and also as a part time pet sitter.
Nicholas West
Nicholas is a chemistry graduate from Exeter university who's keen love of the outdoors led to him choosing to live in the Exeter area ever since. Nicholas grew up surrounded by dogs and has been walking, sitting and boarding pets since an early age and is very much at home again performing this role for Exeter Pet Sitters. He and his girlfriend, also an Exeter graduate, presently have only one cat, the adorable Maggie, which means Nicholas relishes the opportunity to enjoy the company of other animals. Nicholas was a professional games player who spent much time travelling around the globe to tournaments but now prefers the more settled lifestyle of pet-care and writing.
